Pembroke Scholars

Launched in 2024, Pembroke Scholars is an Outreach programme run by Pembroke College, Oxford. We work in collaboration with the Centre for Research in Education at Oxford (CredOx) to identify pupils in our target regions who do not require the same level of academic intervention as OxNet, however would nonetheless benefit from a bespoke academic programme. For more information, please see the CredOx page.

Like OxNet, Pembroke Scholars invites pupils to participate in a variety of activities, both in person and online, over the course of the year. These include Study Skills Days, workshops and talks, an essay competition, and a residential visit to Pembroke. â€‹The programme runs from January until September.

  • Challenge pupils to think beyond the curriculum, in a critical, flexible and independent manner;

  • Raise academic resilience, confidence and curiosity;

  • Showcase the variety of subjects on offer at degree level and the importance of interdisciplinary learning;

  • Demystify preconceptions of College life and Oxbridge in general.
